The 5-Minute Morning Glow Routine for Sensitive Skin
Your mornings are short, and your skin is sensitive — two things a 10-step routine will never respect. This guide is the routine we'd hand a friend: five products, five minutes, built for skin that reacts to everything. Everything here costs $22 or less, because good skincare shouldn't cost $60.
A note before we start: Beyou products are cosmetics. We talk about appearance — what skin looks like — not diagnoses, cures, or medical promises. Anything in this guide is about looking fresher, calmer, and more even-toned. If your skin has something medical going on, that's a dermatologist conversation, not a skincare-guide conversation. (We say this because an honest brand should.)
The 5 golden rules of sensitive skin (mornings)
- Gentle beats strong. If your skin stings, flushes, or feels tight after a product, that product isn't for you — no matter how many 5-star reviews it has.
- Thin to thick. Apply products from lightest to heaviest texture so each layer can actually sit on your skin.
- Less product, more patience. A pea-size amount for most products; sensitive skin does better with less, given time to absorb.
- Introduce one new product at a time. Wait 3–4 days between additions so you know exactly which one your skin disagrees with (if any).
- SPF is the whole point of the morning routine. The other four steps support how your skin looks; sunscreen protects it. Never skip it.
Minute 0:00 — Cleanse (Vitamin C Face Cleanser, $12)
Overnight your skin collects sweat, oil, and last night's moisturiser residue. Morning cleansing is not about scrubbing — it's a reset.
- Use a nickel-sized amount on damp skin, massage gently for 60 seconds. That's longer than most people cleanse, and it matters: most of the brightening "glow" from a cleanser comes from how thoroughly (and gently) you cleanse.
- Rinse with lukewarm water. Hot water irritates sensitive skin; cold doesn't cleanse well.
- Pat — don't rub — dry with a clean towel.
Vitamin C in a cleanser is about the look of brightness on freshly cleansed skin. At Target, shoppers rate this cleanser 4.5 out of 5 (77 ratings) — one of the highest-rated affordable cleansers in the aisle.
One honest note: as of this writing, this cleanser is sold out on beyoucosmetics.com — and we refuse to pretend otherwise. You can find the exact same cleanser at Target for $11.99. (We've put Target links on all our sold-out product pages, because a sold-out page with no help is just a dead end.)
Minute 1:00 — Eye cream (Caffeine Eye Cream, $18)
The skin under your eyes is the thinnest on your face — it's the first place a rough morning shows. Eye cream goes on before the heavier products so it can actually reach the skin.
- Use a pea-sized amount for both eyes — more just migrates toward your lashes.
- With your ring finger (it presses lightest), gently tap along the orbital bone, not right at the lash line. Tapping, not rubbing: rubbing can irritate the area and work against the brightening you're after.
- Morning is when caffeine's depuffing look matters most. Caffeine helps the under-eye area look less puffy and more rested — paired in our formula with multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramide NP, and panthenol for hydration and barrier support.
- Give it one minute to absorb before the next step, so layers don't pill.
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 261 ratings at Target — real shoppers, real under-eyes.
Minute 2:00 — Treatment (Collagen + Niacinamide Bonding Serum, $19)
This is your "treatment" step — the concentrated one that does the heaviest lifting in your routine.
- Dispense 4–5 drops onto fingertips, press gently onto cheeks, forehead, and chin. (Press, don't drag — dragging pulls at sensitive skin.)
- The headline ingredients, in plain words: collagen supports the look of elasticity and firmness; niacinamide (vitamin B3) supports a more even-looking tone and a healthy-feeling barrier; hyaluronic acid holds hydration so skin looks plumper and fine lines are less visible.
- Wait 30–60 seconds for it to absorb before moisturiser. It should feel dry to the touch, not tacky.
This is the newest formula in the lineup — K-beauty inspired, made in Korea — and it's the step most people skip, then wonder why their moisturiser alone doesn't seem to do much.
Minute 3:30 — Moisturiser (Skin Longevity Peptide Moisturiser, $22)
Sealing in the serum is what makes it last all day.
- Use a pea-to-nickel-sized amount depending on your skin's thirst. Sensitive skin that's tight by noon needs the fuller amount.
- Peptides are the "skin longevity" ingredient — they support the look of smoother, more resilient skin over time. Paired with barrier-supporting hydrators, this is the comfort blanket step.
- Apply in gentle upward strokes, including your neck. Your neck is part of your face now — it ages on the same timeline.
Minute 4:30 — SPF (Niacinamide Daily Moisturiser Mineral Sunscreen SPF50, $20)
The step that makes the other four steps matter. Sun exposure deepens the look of pigmentation and undoes any brightening work you're doing — skipping SPF while chasing glow is like mopping the floor with the tap running.
- Use a generous amount — most people apply far too little sunscreen. For the face alone, think a full finger-length strip.
- This one is tinted and mineral, with niacinamide — designed so there's no white cast on deeper skin tones, oil-free for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It doubles as your daytime moisturiser texture, which is why this routine doesn't need a separate moisturiser + sunscreen.
- Apply last, wait a minute, then makeup if you wear it. Makeup over sunscreen: sunscreen first, always.
SPF50, every single day, even indoors. UV comes through windows and clouds. The best sunscreen is the one you'll actually wear — that's why we made this one tinted, oil-free, and $20.

A PM note (the bonus step)
Mornings are for protecting; evenings are for treating. If you ever expand, the one evening product our Target shoppers rate highest is the Retinol Night Serum — 4.7 out of 5 (196 ratings). Retinol is PM only (never in the morning — it increases sun sensitivity), started 2–3 nights a week, and followed by moisturiser. For the full routine at a set price, the All Day Glow Set is rated 4.9/5 (50 ratings) at Target.
Why we made this guide
We're Beyou — a small, self-funded skincare brand that started in 2020 because clean skincare with recognisable ingredients (vitamin C, niacinamide, retinol, caffeine, hyaluronic acid) shouldn't cost $60. We're cruelty-free, naturally-derived, plant-based, and built for sensitive skin.
Two things we believe in, printed here the way we say them everywhere:
#BeyouBeReal — self-love over perfection. We don't retouch skin in our ads, we don't promise miracles, and we'd rather tell you what a cream can't do than oversell you.
Every order funds women's education. Your glow does good here — that's true whether you buy the full routine or just one tube of eye cream.
